Do you multitask when you read?
(Do you do other things like stir things on the stove, brush your teeth, watch television, knit, walk, etc? Or, do you sit and focus on what you're reading? If you do both: why, when, and which do you prefer?)
paraphrased from this this week's Booking Through Thursday post
I multitask when the circumstances allow or call for it. I spend my lunch break at work eating my pb&j sandwich and reading. I will keep an eye on what's for dinner, stirring as needed, while reading. I always have a book with me, so I can entertain myself while waiting in line (usually the bank) or while waiting for a friend to arrive if we're meeting up somewhere. Basically, if I can do something while reading at the same time, chances are I will. I like reading.
Then there are times that I just want to read. I tune everything out around me and I focus exclusively on what I'm reading. This usually occurs while on breaks at work when I sit on a couch in the foyer or at home when I'm curled up on the couch snuggled under a blanket.
As long as I'm reading, I'm happy!
How about you? Are you a multitasking reader or a dedicated reader? Don't forget to check out the other posts on Booking Through Thursday!

Nothing is yummier than a PB & J sandwich while reading a book. I tend to read "in betweens". Here's mine
P/S I'm a new follower.
I can't read and do much of anything at the same time. Sure, I can have a cup of tea and a little snack but not much more than that. I like to concentrate on what I'm reading to the exclusion of everything else :-)
I'm a college student, so it's hard to find time to just read and nothing else. I HAVE to multitask. Write a paper, cook dinner, clean, research, walk to class, etc... all while reading.
